Develop your goalkeeping skills with the world famous West Ham United Academy coaching programme and gain an insight into the best techniques and goalkeeping training methods.

Participants can choose among different options:

Goalkeeping Teach players those vital skills such a handling, footwork and distribution which can be overlooked when training as part of a team. West Ham United Foundation’s coaches work on specific technical aspects for the goalkeeper position as well as the psychological aspect of this game. Players will have the opportunity in our seminars to get an overview from West Ham United Foundation’s specialized staff in all aspects of this game. The programme is designed to meet the requirements of goalkeepers who require further technical detail incorporated into their training to aid progression and development.
This programme is unique in providing in-depth training covering technical skills, tactical appreciation, psychology and physical training techniques. The Coaching programme is delivered by WHUF trained, UEFA qualified coaches using the West Ham United academy model. It takes place at West Ham United Stadium training complex in London. This programme is open to boys and girls aged 12- 17 years old.

Goalkeeping:

Goalkeeping courses teach players those additional vital skills such a handling, footwork and distribution which can be overlooked when training as part of a team. Our goalkeeping courses are specialised, and we work in smaller groups to enhance development and therefore fitness levels should be of a high standard. Goalkeepers train independently to our football academy programme but come together during session enabling players to put techniques into practice.

Advanced goalkeeping:

Advanced goalkeeping courses work on the same basis as standard goalkeeping, but sessions are designed to meet the requirements of senior and advanced goalkeepers
who require further technical detail incorporated into their training to aid progression and development. Advanced sessions are physically and technically challenging and we recommend that players be of a high standard of both fitness and ability. Goalkeepers who attend these sessions may have the opportunity to highly improve their skills. Advanced Goalkeeping courses available to boys and girls of an advanced level aged 12- 17 years old.

English course plus goalkeeping:

This programme is designed for boys and girls of all abilities aged 12-17 years old, to improve their goalkeeping skills. It consists of 10 hours of soccer training plus 5 hours goalkeeping training and 12 hours of English classes per week.

Weekly programme schedule includes:

● 5-days training at West Ham United Stadium training complex, 15 hours
● West Ham United Foundation training kits
● Full board residential accommodation & free supervised internet access
● Evening activities every night for residential
● Excursion: 1 half-day West Ham United Stadium Tour
● Medical Insurance
● Player report feedback
● Seminar and workshops
● 1 half-day excursion to Wembley Stadium for 2 weeks students
● 1 full-day (London Tour) for 2-week students
● Daily transfer to training facilities by coach
● All students will receive their West Ham United Foundation certificate and a progress report from their coaches at West Ham United Stadium in a player´s closing ceremony
● Goalkeepers doing intensive football training without an English course will have 9 hours of goalkeeping training plus 10 hours of football training
● Goalkeepers with English classes will have 10 hours of football training plus 5 hours of goalkeeping

Students participating in a 1-week programme will have 1 half-day excursion to West Ham Stadium.
* Goalkeeping training is only available from 3rd June to 21st July 2024

Accommodation is at East London University, Dockland campus, Participants stay in single en-suite rooms, The camp is open to boys and girls of all nationalities and that if they need documentation to apply for a visa Choices will send a letter stating that they have booked on the programme.

In addition, for those enrolled in High Performance they have to send a letter of recommendation from their coach or be federated and playing in a football club or academy with their application.

* Arrivals are on the Sunday prior to the course start date. Departures are on the Saturday.
** It is compulsory to bring the original passport to the camp. The document will be kept by Choices staff.

Airport transfers:

(Choices International Car Transfer Services offer a personal meet and greet service from any airport in London at any time. Your son/daughter will be driven comfortably to the residence.
