NIKE BASKETBALL PERFORMANCE CAMP (15-17) AT SURREY SPORTS PARK

OVERVIEW

Residential 6- or 13-night camps at Surrey Sports Park for 15-17-year-old boys. Players can choose either a Total Basketball Camp or opt to combine basketball training with English language lessons on the Basketball and English programme.

SUITABLE FOR

Basketball Level:
All abilities however this is a very intensive camp and not suitable for complete beginners.

English Level:

Basketball + English Option: All abilities except native level English speakers
Total Basketball Option: Not suitable for basic level English speakers

BASKETBALL COACHING

Coaching programme designed by former Team GB Olympian and professional player Eric Boateng
Coaches work on ratios of 1:8 on court
Coaches use demonstration, practice and feedback to improve
Players are given an insight into playing at a senior level.
Pro-style drills and game scenarios give an insight into life as an elite player.
Coaching report and attendance certificate to take home

ENGLISH LANGUAGE LESSONS

Curriculum uses CLIL approach used in top schools worldwide
Includes sports-focused English curriculum
Average of 12 students per class, maximum of 14
Highly qualified, native-level English teachers
Project work
Helps students prepare for IGCE, IELTS, Trinity, Cambridge, ESB, GESE and CAE exams
English report to take home

TOTAL SPORT WORKSHOPS

Workshops delivered by coaches and specialist staff
Introducing players to range of topics to give better understanding of athletic performance
Interactive debates in English
Examples of topics: Nutrition, Diversity & Inclusion, Injury Prevention
In addition, some recovery exercises, such as yoga, will take place
